I would like to introduce you to my beautiful wife, Brenda Bailey Holmes. Brenda and I have been happily married since late 2010. Our coming together as husband and wife was actually precipitated by the deaths our spouses; my wife of 33 years (Corinne) and Brenda's husband of 32 years (Tom) in 2007.
You may be wondering what the deaths of our spouses have to do with Medicare. The reality is that my first experience with Medicare came in 2006 when after having been permanently disabled with cancer for two years, my wife became eligible for Medicare. As a result, I received a somewhat forced "user" education on the difference between Medicare's payment of our many healthcare claims as opposed to my employer plan's payment of those bills. Thankfully, I was working in the healthcare costs containment industry and knew how to navigate those "confusing waters" of healthcare charges. What I learned in that tedious process was that anyone forced to deal with any healthcare system, whether the bills are being paid by Medicare or by an employer's group plan, needs an advocate who knows the system and is not afraid to ask difficult questions. I could tell many stories about my experience during that period of time but won't attempt to do so because of the limited space.
Suffice it to say that I believe Medicare Consulting is much more than ensuring that my clients have the right Medicare supplemental insurance to adequately cover their health care needs. The fact is that most of us who enter Medicare at age 65 will interact with healthcare services more than we did before 65, even if we have been relatively healthy up to that time. Therefore, timely, objective advice on how to navigate not only the Medicare Supplemental Insurance market, but also how to navigate our system of healthcare with Medicare as our insurance is vital for our true well being!
Our approach to helping you navigate Medicare begins with a one on one consultation and can happen either face to face or online. Nowhere in the process do we try to pressure you into buying something that you are not convinced is best for your situation. We ask probing questions in order to discover your preferences and then show you the Medicare Options that most closely align with those preferences. The consultation is absolutely free to you! Even if you decide to own one of the programs that we represent, the insurance company pays us a fee for your participation and it never costs you more than if you were to buy directly from the insurance company! It's that simple!
